WHEN TO USE

A VERSATILE TOOL TO HAVE AT YOUR SHOP

WHEN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING OCCUR:

  • When low oil pressure is noted (often indicates clogged pickup screen).
  • Customer has skipped one or more oil changes.
  • Head gasket failure (causing contamination of the lube-oil system).
  • Engine overheated; thermostat, radiator and/or hoses replaced (oil temperatures too hot, resulting in breakdown of oil).
  • Noisy / sticking lifters.
  • After repairs which require removal of valve covers, intake or heads. To remove gasket material or other contaminants that fall in or are loosened during repair and which could clog pickup screen or become trapped in bearings, etc.
  • When switching from conventional motor oil to synthetic oil.
  • Oil is particularly dirty when drained and/or evidence of sludge build-up when oil filter is removed.
  • When a customer has bought a used car and maintenance records are unknown.
  • After the initial, new car break-in period, to remove any metal filings, etc. from the original manufacturing process.
  • Used-cars for sale. Buyers will see clean, clear oil on the dip stick, even after many vehicle test drives.
  • When the amount of oil that drains out of the oil pan indicates that the customer has been driving with an insufficient amount of oil. This would lead to oil overheating and oil breakdown.
  • Before an emissions test.
  • Every 15,000 miles, or once per year, as the best preventive maintenance against sludge buildup.
